Our third community workshop dedicated to planning events for the World Cup coming to Toronto in June and July 2026.
About this Event

With just over two months to go, the FIFA World Cup 2026 is coming to Toronto. With hundreds of thousands of tourists expected, we invite any and all interested in contributing to a variety of community projects and events. We are inviting anyone working in bars, restaurants, music venues, hotels, museums and anyone connected with the tourism and hospitality sectors. We invite business owners, football fans and community builders, bureaucrats and BIAs, not-for-profits and galleries. Come one, come all, and lets ensure that all our boats rise with the same tide. As my ancestors said: Tuko Pamoja. We are stronger together.

We've conducted two community workshops so far. The through-line is clear: we’re moving from big ideas into coordinated execution — connecting collaborators, identifying the right venues, sharing research openly, and locking activations that can scale across matchdays.

If you'd like a summary report from either of our first workshops, send an email to [email protected] or [email protected]

What we’re building (the shared frame)

Our planning is focused on four practical priorities:

  • Connecting people across culture, hospitality, tech, and community leadership so we’re not working in silos
  • Identifying venues (especially under 1000 capacity) where activations can actually happen
  • Sharing research and information so everyone is working from the same facts, constraints, and opportunities
  • Locking activations into a clear map of what’s happening, where, and on which matchdays

Our Goal on April 7th

Move from planning → a structured activation plan by:

  • Confirming priority venues and corridor nodes
  • Aligning activations to matchdays and audiences
  • Clarifying what needs to be submitted (and by when)
  • Assigning clear owners for next-step outreach and deliverables
