About this Event

In celebration of FIFA World Cup 26, The Africa Center and El Museo del Barrio proudly present a special FREE community screening of the opening match of the FIFA World Cup: Mexico vs. South Africa on Thursday June 11th. This collaborative program brings together the vibrant cultural legacies of Africa and Latin America, highlighting shared histories, diasporic connections, and the power of football as a universal language.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the 23rd edition of the tournament but the first to feature 48 teams and three host countries: Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Programs hosted at The Africa Center are free and open to all. Registration does not guarantee entrance, so we recommend that you arrive early.
