Welcome to the 2024 World Championship Hoop Dance Contest at the Heard Museum!
This celebrated annual event draws over 100 dancers from diverse tribal backgrounds across Turtle Island, showcasing their exceptional skills and upholding the rich traditions of hoop dance.

Since its debut at the Heard Museum in 1991, the World Championship Hoop Dance Contest has become a key event for cultural preservation, highlighting and continuing the deep history of hoop dancing within Indigenous communities.
