The beginning of The Names Project was an act of civil disobedience, a planned disruption created to publicly name those who'd died of HIV and AIDS as the media and the government intentionally ignored them.This year, for World AIDS Day, The Church Within is partnering once again with Circle City HIV/AIDS Coalition. We will disrupt the normal Sunday Service at The Church Within with our annual WAD Commemoration.
We will gather for a meal after the service, a pitch-in with plenty for all.
Please, do make time to gather in honor of the lives lost, celebration of lives still being lived, and to find more ways to work together to end the epidemic.
This is a space for all people, LGBTQIA+ and Allies.
This will not be a religious ceremony; it will gather us in the spirit of equity and community. We are more together than we are alone. Let us gather.
