World AIDS Day 2026: Fighting Stigma with Science
About this Event
World AIDS Day, observed annually on 1 December, is a global moment to raise awareness of HIV and AIDS, celebrate progress in research, and challenge stigma. Since 2017, the Francis Crick Institute has hosted a dedicated World AIDS Day event to spotlight the importance of HIV research, engage the wider public and research communities, and work towards eliminating the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.
This year’s event will take place on Tuesday 1st December, with the theme ‘Fighting Stigma with Science’. We warmly welcome members of the public, researchers, clinicians, and anyone interested in HIV/AIDS and the science behind it.
Schedule Highlights
Doors will open at 17:30 for an interactive exhibition of stands and posters. These will showcase the science of HIV and provide valuable health information from scientists, the National AIDS Trust, The Food Chain and Positive East. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly with researchers, ask questions, and connect with others in the community.
This will be followed by talks from Dr Michael Brady, Professor Sarah Fidler and Angelina Namiba.
The talks will be followed by a panel discussion, featuring all speakers and a representative from the National AIDS Trust, who will respond to audience questions.
Admission is free, but seats are limited. Please register in advance to secure your place.
