Türkiye’s most captivating and technically brilliant oriental dancer, Azad Kaan, will be in Oz once more to educate, inspire and delight dancers with 5 incredible workshops. ✨✨Workshops will take place in Adelaide over two days, the weekend before his Fringe Festival show, and will cover many aspects of oriental dance including posture, technique, stylisation, turns, choreography, cultural knowledge, genre specialisation and so much more! ✨
Azad will also issue a certificate of attendance to dancers who complete all 5 workshops with him.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
Saturday 22nd of February 2025
WS1 - 10am Technique a l'Azad
Explore essential oriental techniques and stylisation including Azad’s signature moves with which you will enhance your oriental dance vocabulary and use when teaching, choreographing and performing.
2.5 hours in duration
WS2 - 1:30pm Flow & Go
Allow your dance to flow while you go go GO! Master upper body techniques, suspensions, transitions and spins to add grace and beauty to your movement.
2 hours in duration.
WS3 - 4:30 Tarab
Whether it’s poignant, lilting vocals, mesmerising riffs, stirring instrumentals or profound lyrics, these seemingly mystical components culminate to create an experience of utter mesmerisation, a world in which all that exists is the music and the intense bodily response one has to hearing it. Learn to dance to this experience through an ethereal choreography.

Sunday 23rd of February 2025
WS4 - 10am Mejance
Make a stunning entrance and wow your audiences from the get go with this hypnotic classical entrance choreography full of beauty, grace and charm.
3 hours in duration.
WS5 - 2:30pm Drum Solo
There are drum solos and then there are Azad Kaan drum solos! Learn this heart pumping, hot and sassy showstopper of a drum solo which will take your audience’s breath away.
