It's Juan's last week in the UK and we want to make the most of his expertise by offering you two intensive workshops on Sunday afternoon in Oxford. Juan David Vargas has come third place in the world Championship in Buenos Aires two years in a row. He has been dancing Tango from the age of 13; he is a fountain of knowledge and we are lucky to have him here in Oxford!🕺 Workshop details:
📍 Jericho Community Centre, 33A Canal St, Oxford OX2 6BQ (first floor, please ring the dance studio intercom)

🏷️ £20 per person for one class, £30 for both classes (no booking required)

💪 1️⃣ WORKSHOP 1: Lower Body Technique for Tango: Grounding, Strength & Stability
🕞 3:30pm – 5:00pm
🎯 Individual Technique (All Levels)
True power in tango begins from the floor up.
This class focuses on essential elements for efficient, expressive movement — developing grounding, strength, and stability through the intelligent use of joints, legs, and hips.
Learn to articulate your steps with precision and ease, refining balance and musicality for more fluid, confident dancing.

🤝 2️⃣ WORKSHOP 2: Connection and Flow in the Couple
🕔 5:15pm – 6:45pm
🎯 Advanced Class (Partners Only)
Enhance your fluidity and connection as a couple through focused work on axis and weight transfer.
Discover how subtle communication and shared balance create greater harmony, coordination, and flow in your dance — moving together with intention and ease.
Please only attend this workshop with a partner. If you do not have a partner but still want to join, we can match you with another solo dancer. Please email us at [email protected] and we will get back to you!

Getting there:
Jericho Community centre is a short walk away from Oxford Train Station, and is about 10 mins walk from the City Centre.
There are a few free parking spots dotted around and paid parking on Great Clarendon Street. Check the new congestion charges if you are driving into Oxford. We recommend using Park and Ride.
