A Dutch employment contract or payslip can contain a surprising amount of information—and plenty of terminology that is unfamiliar when you are new to the Netherlands.

This practical session explains salary and payroll deductions, net pay, holiday allowance, pension contributions, travel allowances, bonuses, secondary benefits, working hours, notice periods and collective labour agreements.

We’ll also look at the Dutch pension system, including AOW, employer pensions, private pension savings and the potential pension gaps faced by people who have lived or worked in several countries.

You’ll leave with: a much better understanding of what you are actually earning, what is being deducted and what your employment package means for your longer-term financial future.
