Join DV Residency Artist Idan Cohen, award-winning choreographer and Artistic Director of the Vancouver-based Ne.Sans Opera & Dance, for a free contemporary dance workshop that encourages versatility and technical ability through Cohen’s unique and acclaimed artistic methodology.
The workshop includes a contemporary technical warm-up focused on virtuosity and strength, aiming to enhance dancers’ physical abilities, alertness, and performance quality.
About Idan Cohen
Originally from Israel, Idan Cohen is currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Growing up at a kibbutz in the north of Israel, Cohen was a prodigy classical pianist, educated in classical music and composition at a professional level. He danced with the world-renowned ‘Kibbutz contemporary dance company’ for 7 seasons, and established his own dance company in Tel Aviv in 2006. He relocated to Vancouver and has been the Artistic Director of Ne.Sans since 2017.
Cohen's work has been touring internationally and has won international recognition and awards. A well-respected and loved dance instructor, Cohen has taught at some of the world’s best dance companies, including ‘Kullberg Ballet’ (Sweden), The Scottish Dance Theatre (Dundee, Scotland), Silesian Dance Theatre (Poland), Arabesque Dance Company (Sofia, Bulgaria) and more, and is frequently invited as a guest professor at universities and conservatories worldwide.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Photos will be taken during the workshop. A photo release form will be available to sign. Consent to photos is NOT mandatory to participate. If you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must sign the waiver and photo release form.
