About the workshop:
Physical workshop where we will work on physical actions and the drawing of spaces.
If we can do things instead of saying them, we will still have our voice available to talk about other things. Can we create the entire platform of a scene without talking and start using words without having to explain who we are, where we are, and what we are doing?
We will put a lot of emphasis on the fixed points and the different ways of simulating forces. Although they have the same measurement, lifting a tube with maps as an architect is not the same thing weight wise, as a worker mobilising a steel bar in a metallurgy. Raising water from a well is not the same thing as being a firefighter and having to pull with a rope a couple of tourists that got trapped at the bottom of a cave.
Our budget for scenery in improvisation theatre is infinite, and we just have to know how to manage it.
About Diego:
Actor, director, improviser, and visual artist from Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
For more than 15 years, he has been teaching workshops and training sessions in theatrical improvisation, as well as in physical theatre techniques, Commedia dell’Arte, and object theatre.
Over the past 7 years, he has participated in improv festivals and trained theatre companies in various countries (Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Costa Rica, the Philippines, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, England, Belgium, Greece, South Africa, Germany, and Spain).
He is currently a member of three companies:
OLVÍDALOTODO (a theatrical improv company and school of improv and physical theatre in Mallorca) together with Carito Delgado.
GLOBAL IMPRO (an improv company based in Madrid), together with Feña Ortalli.
And DAUS (a multidisciplinary improv company in Mallorca) with Aina Zanoguera (music) and Úrsula Urgeles (dance).
For a long time, he has been exploring tools to bring visual arts and theatre closer to the world of improvisation, seeking to blur the boundaries between different artistic disciplines.
