About this Event
If you've ever wondered how the unseen and supernatural can connect us all on stage, join us for this exploration.
Our journey leads towards performing a special event that lives at the intersection of Tarot and theater called Whatever Fate Decides.
Together in this workshop, we'll discover the key skills needed to arrive there and how to work safely with audiences to do it. We'll open up some collective truths that bind us together as well as our own personal stories while learning to honor both on stage.
As we go, we'll also use plenty of ways to tap into our intuition and instinct so that we can be open to what lies beyond and the forces that move the cards. We'll also explore the ways in which we can give and take direction in the moment to collaborate and move to extend ourselves past the old habits or routines that hold us back so that we can serve the story unfolding before us.
Prerequisites: we recommend this workshop for anyone who has completed at least Level 1 at Highwire or equivalent training.
This is a free workshop, and includes an opportunity to perform in the show later that evening. Accordingly, please let us know as soon as possible if you're unable to attend so we can open up space for more participants!
About your instructor:
Led by Neal Leaheey, who is a performer and Tarot reader that has been a teaching artist both in his home of Rhode Island and all over the world, you'll arrive at a performance later that evening that connects us all together with the unknown world!
About the Venue:
The Lou Costello Room has been a mainstay of the Baltimore comedy scene for over a decade, regularly producing standup, improv, and sketch comedy shows in collaboration with many production companies. They also frequently host music and variety events from their location on Hampden's 36th Street, 'The Avenue!'
This show is not wheelchair accessible, it is on the second floor of the bar up a full flight of stairs. Find out accessibility details about all of our venues here.
About Highwire Improv:
Highwire Improv’s mission is to steward a community of artists committed to growth, collaboration, joy, and justice — in Baltimore and around the world — through improvisational theater.
