About this Event
Regardless of experience with figure drawing, come to this workshop to enhance your understanding of the human form and/or come to try something new in a relaxed atmosphere.
All participants have access to charcoal pencils, kneaded erasers, paper, and easels.
Join because it’s a great way to enhance your skills as an artist independently, or to navigate unfamiliar territory with Amir as your guide.
We are COVID cautious; all work areas are sanitized and catered to individual use. Masks are MANDATORY. You may bring your own materials if you do not wish to share. We offer distanced seating as well as corner seats for older/immunocompromised members.
Series Outline:Session 1 | Contour
April 28th, 2021
Participants will engage in less emphasis on the shadow and light that makes up the human form, but strictly the lines. The goal of the session is to better understand the lines that make up the human form.
Session 2 | Shapes
May 26th, 2021
Participants will engage in observing the human form and determine which shapes accurately describe what they’re seeing. The goal of the session is to teach participants to view the human form as a collection of basic geometric shapes.
Session 3 | Abstract
June 16th, 2021
Participants will engage in the abstraction of the human form; similar to expressive. The goal of the session is to let go of the notion that their drawing has to look exactly like what is in front of them.

BORN AND RAISED IN STAMFORD, CT, AMIR HAS CREATED ART ALL HIS LIFE. EVEN WHEN HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TAKING NOTES IN CLASS, YOU COULD FIND DOODLES IN HIS NOTEBOOK.ACRYLIC, WATERCOLOR, DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION, AND SPRAY PAINT ARE HIS MEDIA OF CHOICE; WITH A SIDE HOBBY OF MAKING BEATS. SUBJECT MATTER USUALLY PERTAINS TO ANIME/CARTOON AND ORIGINAL CHARACTERS, BUT HE NEVER TURNS DOWN A CHALLENGE TO TRY SOMETHING NEW!
