Ages: 13 - 17Let's practice our skills while we have some art fun.
This class will consist of an introduction to different methods of working with chalk pastels and other "dry" mediums, such as graphite and colored pencil. Students will enjoy art fun as they sharpen their skills and make one-of-a-kind art pieces. We will also learn about the history and cultivation/manufacturing of chalk pastel as well as its place in art history and the artists known for using it in their work.
To encourage engagement and connection with the materials students will be using, we suggest students provide their own reference material for the class - a photo or image of a scene or subject which they find interesting (either printed or on digital device). However, your instructor will provide some options for those who may have trouble picking imagery which is exciting to them.
