How can we cultivate an open and loving presence that enables us to respond wisely and courageously in a world shaped by crisis and uncertainty?

This workshop invites you on an experiential and transformative journey: cultivating a way of being that is grounded and balanced — able to hold both the pain and the beauty of life, rooted in connection with others and the web of life, and ready to bring your own unique contribution into the world.

Through ritual, guided reflection, dialogue, imagination, and practices inspired by The Work That Reconnects by Joanna Macy, you will be supported in acknowledging the emotional realities of our time. At the same time, you will discover inner resilience, aliveness, collective strength, and a deeper sense of agency.

The workshop creates a compassionate and empowering space to:

  • honor uncertainty, grief, and longing
  • reconnect with joy, gratitude, and interdependence
  • deepen relationships with yourself, others, and the Earth
  • cultivate courage and clarity for meaningful action

No prior experience is needed — only a willingness to be present, listen deeply, and engage with an open heart.

About the facilitators:

Queen Rev Mutima Imani (https://mutimaimani.com/) is a facilitator, speaker, and author specializing in transformative practices that awaken personal and collective potential for a thriving global society. Drawing on a wealth of experience as a spiritual leader and healer, Mutima intertwines ancestral wisdom, deep ecology, and community-based practices to address the root causes of oppression, disconnection, and ecological collapse. As a dedicated steward of the Work That Reconnects, Mutima brings a decolonized, inclusive lens to themes of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) in social and environmental activism.

Mutima is the author of A Global Invitation to a Thriving Worldwide Society: The Promise of the Great Turning, an exploration of how Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects spiral can evolve to address the polycrisis of our time. With a focus on healing intergenerational and racial trauma, nurturing resilience, and fostering liberation, she empowers individuals and communities to navigate the transition toward a just, regenerative future.

Lioba Diez (www.spiritandsoul.org) is a pastor, spiritual companion, and founder of Spirit & Soul, a fresh expression of church creating spaces for spirituality, connection, and transformation in everyday life. Her work brings together contemplative practice, community building, social engagement, and ecological awareness.

Inspired by traditions of Christian mysticism, deep listening, and transformative group processes, Lioba creates spaces where people can encounter themselves, one another, and the living world. She is passionate about accompanying people through experiences of grief, uncertainty, and change toward renewed courage and meaningful action.
