Discover the magic of transforming recycled paper into something entirely new in this hands-on workshop rooted in a tradition that began over 2,000 years ago in ancient China! You’ll learn how to break down recycled paper into pulp, create a slurry, and use a mold and deckle to form your own handmade sheets from start to finish. Experiment with texture while embedding natural and found materials to make each piece uniquely your own!
This tactile, meditative process invites both creativity and curiosity, turning discarded materials into beautiful, one-of-a-kind paper. Perfect for beginners and artists alike, this workshop is all about slowing down, getting your hands messy, and experiencing the beauty of creating something from almost nothing. Students will make several sheets of paper to use for books, envelopes or for creating more art!
