2-DAY WORKSHOP JULYEN HAMILTONTHEATRE WORKS: Dance / Voice / Text
The VOICE is one of the main areas of interest I have been working with for many years. It has been an element constantly included within my performances and the making of texts has been a practice since my youth.
This 2-day course will be focussing upon:
- the Supported Body - initial technique for all dancer-performers
- the area of the imagination the voice touches
- the layers of our creativity it handles and expresses
- how it lives naturally alongside movement and the poetics of dance
- making sounds, words, sentences and dialogue…….
We shall be working with the instant making of dances for performance and the inclusion of the voice within this process.
ABOUT JULYEN HAMILTON
I have been making dances, directing and teaching for over 40 years. I was born in England, then lived in Amsterdam and am now based in Girona in northern Spain and Athens, Greece.
My work is to make performance - solo and company pieces - with dancers, musicians and other performers - and my process, amongst others, is to create instantly on stage... to compose instantly..to improvise.
