Join us for this free for the public workshop on "Introduction to Table Braiding with Hair" with expert Zen Hansen.
This immersive and hands-on workshop introduces the nearly forgotten art of table-braided hairwork. Popular throughout Europe and carried into the American West during the nineteenth century, this weighted braiding technique transforms loose strands into strong dimensional braids once used for watch chains, bracelets, and keepsake jewelry.
There are two opportunities to lean this technique from our guest. Wednesday, June 24th, 10:00am-4:00pm we will learn how to created the historic flat braid. This workshop will take place at the Alice Hardie Steven's Center located behind the Ivinson Mansion.
Friday, June 26th, 10:00am-4:00pm, we will learn how to create the historic twisted chain pattern. This workshop will take place at the University of Wyoming Student Union Senate Chambers.
These workshops are free! No prior experience required. Space is extremely limited! Call us at the Carriage House to reserve your spot 307-742-4448.
