New to watercolor? Start here! This comprehensive introduction covers all the essential watercolor techniques every artist needs to know. You'll master basic brush control, color mixing, and water management while creating simple practice exercises and small paintings that build your confidence.
In this hands-on watercolor class, you'll learn:

• Fundamental watercolor brush techniques and water control
• Essential color mixing and basic color theory for transparent mediums
• When to use wet-on-wet vs. wet-on-dry watercolor approaches
• How to create smooth watercolor washes and gradients
• Common watercolor beginner mistakes and how to avoid them

Through guided watercolor exercises, you'll create a color mixing practice sheet, a simple botanical study, and a basic landscape element. No experience necessary - just bring your curiosity! While focused on watercolor, these foundational principles apply beautifully to all liquid mediums including acrylics, gouache, and ink.

About the Instructor:

Majoring in Illustration at Savannah College of Art & Design, I started my journey working as a textile designer for six years in Atlanta, GA. After lots of soul searching I jumped into a career of painting in 2013. I have been doing so full time since selling fine art, prints, and licensing my work.

The natural world is so beautiful and I hope my art is a reflection of that sentiment.
