Intermediate Gelli Plate Printmaking
Led by Janie Reisler
In this new full day workshop, attendees will learn the basics of multi level and texture printing, photo transfers, printing botanicals and more. We will be focussing on the print as a whole, rather than multiple prints.
What is a Gelli Plate? Gelli Plates are reusable printing plates that let you make monoprints without a large, expensive press. They look and feel like gelatin. With quick clean up they allow for many uses and encourage experimentation and layering. This is a fun way to use printmaking!
What to expect: You will create unique papers by color blending, working with layers, mark making, substractive methods, layered mask printing, stencils, leaves and natural materials, and more.
With a short lesson on color theory and blending, students will leave the workshop with several full print pieces to add to their future art projects or to hang as a unique fine art print!
All supplies are included, yet feel free to bring any materials you have on hand.
This is a workshop for those who are familiar with working with Gellu plates and want to learn more advanced techniques.

1:00pm Break for Lunch Please bring food or beverage of your choice for the lunch break. Arts Warehouse has a large refrigerator where items may be stored as well as a microwave if needed. Bedner's Market is just a short walk away with fresh made soups, salads, and sandwiches available as well.
2:30pm Workshop is dismissed

About the Instructor:
Janie Reisler is a new resident to South Florida coming from Montreal, Canada. She is an artist, graphic designer, graduate art historian and educator and has been teaching many art styles for over 30 years. These styles include classical life drawing, 3D design, fashion illustration, drawing from the live model, decorative painting, collage, recycled/upcycled art and currently the trending, MIXED MEDIA/ STREET ART STYLE. She is thrilled to bring her passion and expertise to the Arts Warehouse in DELRAY BEACH.
