WORKSHOP: How to set up a co-op

Come join us at the mini-common room in 10 Claremont (near Hastings Library) for a workshop on how to set up your own housing co-op.

The workshop will be led by Emily Johns who has been supporting people with co-ops for over 25 years, including through the umbrella group Radical Routes, and is currently part of the Walden Pond Housing Co-op in Hastings.

Co-ops are about a group of people coming together to buy or rent, and then maintain and manage, their own housing together. For anyone feeling trapped in insecure private rented accommodation, or fed up with waiting to move on from temporary accommodation, then a housing co-op could be a real alternative.

The Hastings Housing Alliance is running this workshop as part of our ongoing campaign to promote community-led solutions to the housing crisis!
