Workshop: 'EU and Irish Migration & Asylum Policy and how to influence it'

This workshop is about:

• How the EU works and how we can influence its migration and asylum policy
• Ireland’s international protection policy
• EU Pact on Migration and Asylum and what it will mean for the rights of people on the move.

Irish Refugee Council and Oxfam Ireland invite all active in defending and promoting the rights of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees to join us for a workshop on influencing for change.

There will be space for learning, for discussion and for meeting other people who want to bring about change.

The workshops aren't a formal education setting, a job training or a certificate-based setting.

This workshop is for:

People who are involved in grassroots refugee, migrant led groups or who are interested in getting in involved in advocacy. Please share this with friends and others interested who might not see this invite (especially if they have lived experience of the international protection system).

The Irish Refugee Council and Oxfam Ireland will hold a series of workshops over the coming year aiming to share advocacy skills and policy knowledge, hold discussions about how we can most effectively work together as grassroots activists and advocates, and open a space for networking and meeting more people who also want to advance the rights of migrants including refugees. We have designed workshops on four topics - these topics were chosen by participants at a workshop we facilitated in January 2023 on activism and advocacy. We're looking forward to learning from each other and we hope we'll all work together more closely in the future and support each other's projects.

Killarney Court Community Centre is located near the Irish Refugee council. From the Irish Refugee Council walk on Killarney st. (direction Mountjoy square) and turn right onto Buckingham street. You will pass DCC office and the community hall is through the double doors on your right.
