About the workshop:
In this workshop, participants will learn how to electro-etch sterling silver using silver nitrate and a laboratory power supply. Each participant will make either a pair of earrings or a pendant during the three hour workshop. Silver blanks will be provided and participants will draw their own unique designs onto the surface of the metal in preparation for etching. This course is suitable for beginners with no experience or jewellers who wish to add a new skill to their repertoire.

About Clare Poppi:
Clare Poppi is an artist based in South East QLD whose practice is concerned with sustainable and ethical approaches to jewellery making. She works predominantly with precious metals and natural objects, preferring recyclable or biodegradable materials. As well as her art practice, Clare teaches at the Queensland College of Art, Brisbane Institute of Art and with Flying Arts Queensland. Clare completed her Master of Visual Arts in 2019 and continues her research on how the relationship between maker and wearer can challenge fast fashion and yield sustainable outcomes.

Workshop Cancellation Policy:
Please note this workshop can be cancelled by artisan due to unforeseen circumstances or if minimum numbers are not reached. In this event participants will be refunded accordingly and as soon as possible.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
Workshops have limited spaces and involve preparation by the facilitator. Bookings cancelled up to one week prior to the start of the workshop may be refunded, but a 20% non-refundable administration fee will be deducted. Bookings cancelled within a week of the workshop commencing will NOT be refunded.
Workshop Transfer Policy:
You may transfer your booking into an alternative workshop up to one week prior to the start of the workshop. Any difference in cost will be charged accordingly. Please endeavour to complete any transfers at least one week prior to the workshop.
You are also welcome to transfer your booking to another person prior to the workshop commencing. Please confirm this arrangement in writing to [email protected].
