Simon Stephens torna a Milano per un esclusivo workshop di drammaturgia
Dopo cinque edizioni di successo, che hanno visto la partecipazione di artisti provenienti da Italia, Regno Unito, Francia, Belgio, Olanda, Polonia e USA, e dopo il trionfo della sua drammaturgia "Lo strano caso del cane ucciso a mezzanotte" – con oltre 20.000 spettatori al Teatro Elfo Puccini – Simon Stephens torna a grande richiesta a Milano per un imperdibile workshop di due giorni.

SIMON STEPHENS
Simon Stephens (Manchester, 1971) è un drammaturgo britannico contemporaneo tra i più apprezzati della sua generazione. Dopo aver studiato storia all’Università di York, ha lavorato come insegnante prima di dedicarsi completamente alla scrittura teatrale.
È noto per uno stile realistico e intenso, capace di esplorare con profondità le relazioni umane, l’alienazione e la fragilità emotiva dei suoi personaggi. Le sue opere sono state messe in scena nei più importanti teatri del Regno Unito, tra cui il Royal Court Theatre e il National Theatre di Londra.
Tra i suoi lavori più celebri figurano Motortown (2006) e l’adattamento teatrale di The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2012), vincitore di numerosi premi internazionali, tra cui Olivier Awards e Tony Awards.
Nel 2023 ha firmato anche Vanya, una radicale riscrittura in forma monologo di Zio Vanya di Čechov. La produzione londinese, interpretata da Andrew Scott, ha ottenuto un grande successo di critica e pubblico, vincendo nel 2024 il Laurence Olivier Awards per il Miglior Revival e numerosi altri riconoscimenti.
Dal 2017 è professore di sceneggiatura alla Manchester Metropolitan University.

After five successful editions, which brought together artists from Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, and the USA — and following the triumph of his play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, which drew over 20,000 spectators at the Teatro Elfo Puccini — Simon Stephens returns to Milan by popular demand for an unmissable two-day workshop.

SIMON STEPHENS
Simon Stephens (Manchester, 1971) is one of the most acclaimed contemporary British playwrights of his generation. After studying History at the University of York, he worked as a teacher before dedicating himself fully to writing for the theatre.
He is known for his intense, realistic style and his ability to explore human relationships, alienation, and emotional vulnerability with depth and sensitivity. His plays have been staged at major UK theatres, including the Royal Court Theatre and the National Theatre in London.
Among his most celebrated works are Motortown (2006) and the stage adaptation of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2012), which won numerous international awards, including Olivier Awards and Tony Awards.
In 2023, he also wrote Vanya, a radical solo reimagining of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya. The London production, starring Andrew Scott, achieved major critical and public success, winning the 2024 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Revival along with several other honours.
Since 2017, he has been Professor of Scriptwriting at Manchester Metropolitan University.
