The workshop will focus on designating dark sky areas, such as national parks, and how this process is the most effective method to protect dark skies and fight light pollution.
Andreas Papalambrou is an Electrical and Computer Engineer with a Master's degree in Lighting Design. As an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer, he combined the need to protect his favorite hobby with his professional background by founding the Greek campaign against light pollution in 2008. In 2016, the campaign evolved into the Greek chapter of DarkSky International, which he has been leading ever since. The greatest success of these efforts to date is the designation of the first Greek International Dark Sky Park in Aenos National Park.
