Workshop: Cyber Security for Startups
About this Event
Workshop Overview
Cybersecurity can feel overwhelming, especially for founders and business leaders who don't come from a technical background. The good news is that many of the most effective defenses are straightforward, affordable, and can be implemented by organizations of any size.
This workshop is designed specifically for founders, executives, and business owners who want to better protect their companies without becoming cybersecurity experts. Attendees will learn the practical steps every organization can take to secure email systems, reduce the risk of phishing and social engineering attacks, protect websites and business applications, and build a culture that makes employees a strength rather than a vulnerability.
The session will also explore what to do when prevention fails. Participants will learn how to prepare for cyber incidents, reduce the impact of ransomware and data breaches, recover critical operations quickly through effective backup and recovery strategies, and create a response plan before an emergency occurs.
Finally, we'll examine the role of cyber insurance as part of a broader business resilience strategy. Founders will learn how to evaluate coverage, identify common gaps, and ask the right questions to ensure their insurance aligns with their actual technology and operational risks. Special attention will be given to helping business leaders bridge the gap between insurance, technology, and real-world cyber threats so they can make more informed decisions when working with advisors, brokers, and insurers.
No technical experience is required. The focus is on practical actions that any business can implement immediately to reduce risk, improve resilience, and protect revenue.
