About this Event
Join us for introductory craft workshops to understand the basics of using wool in different ways.
Materials will be provided. These workshops are suitable for participants aged 12 years and older.
These workshops sit alongside Wharenui Harikoa at Objectspace, an installation by Lissy Robinson-Cole and Rudi Robinson.
Bringing together bright, neon colours and traditional toi whakairo shapes, Wharenui Harikoa offers a new way of understanding the importance of joy and aroha within te aō Māori.
—
Juliette Laird is an Tāmaki Makaurau artist whose interest in connection, to place and to others, has often led her to use domestic handcrafts as a medium. She has used crochet to create forms out of varied materials, enjoying the open-ended nature of the process, just adding one loop to another.
—
Wharenui Harikoa at Objectspace is supported by INZIDE and South Pacific Scaffolding.
