Celebrate the New Year with a workshop introducing Japanese temple traditions and the meaning of ema (wooden wish plaques). Rev. Mori of Koyasan Beikoku Betsuin will talk about hatsumode, the purpose of ema, and the zodiac—2026 being the Year of the Horse.
After the talk, participants will write wishes on ema. Plaques are $10 or $5 (limited; cash or check). Before leaving, everyone will draw a New Year omikuji—a fun way to welcome 2026.
