Bookbinding: Create Your Own Photobook
with Andrea Sarcos
February 26 | 10:30am–2:30pm
Cost: $140 All materials provided
This hands-on bookbinding workshop invites participants to create a book “dummy” using their own photographs. While the class focuses on photography, participants working in other media are welcome. Students will learn the fundamentals of hand-bound paper books and explore examples of artist books to better understand the wide range of forms and expressive possibilities the photobook can take.
Led by Artist-in-Residence Andrea Sarcos, the workshop includes a guided demonstration of saddle stitch binding, an introduction to building page spreads in Adobe InDesign, and a presentation of hand-bound book samples from Andrea’s personal collection.
Participants will be guided through editing, sequencing, and assembling images into a cohesive book structure, with time for discussion and creative experimentation.
