À PROPOS DE L'ATELIER
Cet atelier, offert par Pascale Tétrault, fait cohabiter art électronique et poésie. Il s’adresse à toute personne ayant un intérêt pour l’écriture poétique, la programmation. Les participant·e·s se familiariseront avec Arduino et Processing et pourront amorcer le travail sur une oeuvre à l’intersection de l’écriture et des arts électroniques.
À l’aide d’un microcontrôleur, ils apprendront à contrôler une imprimante thermique, similaire à celles des caisses enregistreuses, pour imprimer des textes, des images. L’intégration d’interfaces physiques (boutons, potentiomètres) permettra d’explorer des notions d’interactivité et de mettre des récits en mouvement dans l’espace. Cet atelier a pour but d’initier les participant·e·s à la littérature numérique hors écran tout en offrant une introduction à la programmation et à l’assemblage de circuits.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This workshop, led by Pascale Tétrault, brings together electronic art and poetry. It is for anyone interested in poetic writing and programming. Participants will become familiar with Arduino and Processing and will be able to work on a piece at the intersection of writing and electronic arts.
Using a microcontroller, they will learn to control a thermal printer, similar to those of cash registers, to print texts and images. The integration of physical interfaces (buttons, potentiometers) will explore interactivity and bring stories to life in space. The workshop aims to introduce participants to digital literature off-screen while providing an introduction to programming and circuit assembly.
GOOD TO KNOW
No prerequisites are required.
On February 28, March 7, and March 14, from 10 AM. to 5 PM.
