This workshop invites us to think of parts of our body as surfaces for making a collage, by creating layers of symbolic representations that reveal our personal trajectory, memories or even dreams. We will start by making the mould of a specific part of the body with plaster and on this the collage process will be carried out using a variety of materials to create a final composition that you can take home.Materials required:
Besides the paper cut-outs that will be offered, students can bring photographs, images, or even small objects that they would like to use in the process.
Collage Working Club (CWC) is a weekly open workspace for artists working in the medium of paper. Organised in the format of alternate ‘drop in’ sessions and workshops masterclasses, it has both a regular facilitator, whilst also involving the artist community in the sharing of knowledge and skills. Providing materials, education and connections is the primary aim of CWC, and it will do this through the interdisciplinary art of collage as both an art form and a tool for personal growth.
