About this Event
Our Art in the Garden Series continues with acrylics.
NHG proudly welcomes professional artist and popular teacher Melanie Brannan, whose series of acrylic workshops feature a different inspirational piece of art from a different artist each time that you'll reproduce. In this series, you'll have the opportunity to learn about new colors and techniques, and something about the artist in each class you attend.

In "A Winter's Day," Konstantin Gorbatov's mastery captures the serene beauty of winter, where ethereal light dances on snow-laden landscapes. Subtle brushstrokes evoke a tranquil ambience, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the quietude of a winter's day. During this painting class we will recreate our own version of this famous winter scene, working on a 16 x 20 canvas and a palette of icy blues, violets, whites and creams with Golden’s Fluid Acrylics. All supplies are included and all levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced.
$85. All supplies are included. All levels of experience are welcome, from beginners to advanced. In order to have the best in one-on-one instruction, this workshop will be limited to 21 attendees. Please arrive by 1:00pm so you can purchase your wine and snacks in our cafe and get seated. Our class begins promptly at 1:30pm!
Watch for additional Art in the Garden Workshops, coming soon to NHG!
Melanie Montgomery Brannan lives in her paintings, moving around and getting lost in a serene place. With her creative talent, she captures emotions on canvas as her paintings evolve through her own personal perspective. Influenced by light, clouds and reflections, she uses layers upon layers to create a great deal of depth and movement. Colors and perception beautifully touch her work. Melanie paints with her heart as much as her brush. Her favorite style of art is impressionism, with Cezanne and Van Gogh among her favorite artists.
Her paintings are in homes in the Texas, New Mexico, California, Alaska, Oregon, South Dakota, South Carolina, Ireland and Germany. Melanie moved to fine art and teaching after a long, prolific career in graphic design owning her own firm for 30 years. She has devoted collectors across the country and is represented by San Francisco Street Gallery in Santa Fe, NM, and starting in May at Horses in Motion Gallery in Tubac, AZ. You can see more of Melanie’s work at or @melaniebrannanartist.
Melanie has painted exclusively with GOLDEN Artists Colors since 2008. In 2017, GOLDEN trained her to become a certified educator for their amazing line of paints, pastes and gels. She joined this elite group of international artists to become the Dallas educator for GOLDEN.
