It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the launch event for Webb’s forthcoming 'Works of Art' live auction catalogue, held at our Te Aro Gallery. This occasion will celebrate the Wellington stop in a national tour, offering collectors an unparalleled opportunity to view this exceptional collection of artworks ahead of their live auction.At the event, Mark Hutchins-Pond, Senior Art Specialist will be discussing some the best works from the catalogue, unravelling some of their narratives and meanings as well as highlighting the artists’ technical mastery of their chosen media.
The soon-to-be-released 'Works of Art' live auction catalogue includes a selection of artworks from the personal collection of Sir Miles Warren. Founder of the seminal architecture firm Warren & Mahoney Architects, Sir Miles is widely credited with defining Christchurch Modernism and influencing New Zealand architecture through his distinctive vocabulary.
To support the ongoing care and development of the fantastic home and award-winning grounds he donated to the people of Aotearoa before his passing, the Ōhinetahi House & Garden Charitable Trust is offering a curated selection of artworks from the substantial Ōhinetahi collection. Highlights include works by Paul Dibble, Pat Hanly, Ralph Hotere, Julia Morison, Kazu Nakagawa, Don Peebles and Brent Wong.
Other highlights from the 'Works of Art' catalogue include magnificent pieces by iconic New Zealand artists such as Gretchen Albrecht, Tony Fomison, Bill Hammond, Louise Henderson, Colin McCahon and Michael Parekōwhai among others.
This exhibition forms part of Webb’s Works of Art’s national tour, which also includes viewings and events in Queenstown, Christchurch and Auckland, before the live auction in our Mount Eden Gallery on Monday 30 March.
