Working with Sound: An Introduction to Sound Practice with Jeremy & Leah
About this Event
Have you been curious about sound baths, or interested in incorporating sound into your existing practice? This introductory seminar is designed to give you a hands-on experience of sound work and help you decide whether the full program is right for you.
We'll spend most of our time exploring and experimenting with a variety of instruments, including crystal and bronze singing bowls, gongs, drums, chimes, and more. We'll also cover foundational concepts related to the history and science of sound-based modalities.
This seminar is for anyone simply curious about sound baths and sound healing, and for anyone who already knows they want to begin the journey toward becoming a professional sound practitioner. Absolute beginners are absolutely welcome!
Time: 10am to 4pm, including a one-hour lunch break (lunch not included in tuition).
SEMINAR OUTLINE
Introductions
Lectures: a brief history of sound healing, and an introduction to the science of sound healing
Instruments, demonstration and hands-on exploration: drums (30 min), metal singing bowls (60 min)
Break (1 hour)
Instruments, demonstration and hands-on exploration: crystal singing bowls (60 min), gongs (30 min), chimes, tuning forks and more (40 min)
Discussion: what we experienced, and the challenges of sound healing work

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTORS
Leah Lumina and Jeremy Ondo are experienced shamanic practitioners and educators with many years of combined experience in energetics. Leah is a lifelong musician who has practiced and taught bodywork before returning to sound. Jeremy draws on his background in history and education to inform both his practice and his teaching of shamanic techniques.
This 5-hour seminar can be taken as a stand-alone course, or used as a prerequisite for the full Swonobhi Sound School 100-Hour Sound Practitioner Program.
