Power Hour: Diversity, Inclusion & Working With Different People

You will work with people who have different backgrounds, personalities, experiences, and communication styles. Knowing how to work respectfully and effectively with others is an important life and career skill.

This in-person Power Hour helps you build awareness, empathy, and practical skills for working with different people in school, jobs, and everyday group settings. We focus on understanding differences, communicating respectfully, and contributing positively on teams.

During this session, you will:

• Learn why diversity and inclusion matter in real world settings
• Understand how different perspectives strengthen teams
• Build skills for respectful communication and collaboration
• Practice navigating differences without fear or discomfort
• Gain confidence working with people who are different from you

SkillZilla Power Hours are interactive, supportive, and built for where you are right now. This session focuses on growth and understanding, not judgment or perfection.

This Power Hour works as a standalone session and also connects to SkillZilla cohorts and future opportunities.

• Parents are welcome to attend the first few minutes if helpful

• No prior experience or preparation required
