We all long to be understood and we suffer when communication is difficult or even detroys our relationship with others.
On the basis of courage, clarity and warmth the buddhist path offers guidance on how we can invite healing, and lightness into shaky or seemingly destroyed interpersonal contacts and relationships . Two keys are crucial here: learning to listen and speak from our hearts. In this workshop exercises will help us recognize and change our patterns and skills in verbal and nonverbal communication in order to become happier and healthier human beings. Compassionate communication is very effective in personal relationships, but its impact is even greater when we practice it in our communities, our society and in our workplaces.
Barbara Märtens has been a Shambhala and Buddhist practitioner for more than 40 years. Being a senior teacher within the Shambhala Community for many years, she is also the Director of Faculty for Karuna Training Europe, an organization for contemplative psychology, health and art. Barbara has grown up children and grandchildren and lives in Hamburg, Germany.
