The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. (ITCA) is pleased to offer the Fall Protection and Confined Space & Rescue: A Worker Safety Training Course. The course offers over 21 hours of training and is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of personnel of Tribal water and wastewater utilities.

The first day of the course will focus on the topic of Fall Protection. Students will learn about fall protection requirements and regulations under the OSHA General Industry and Construction Standards (including OSHA 1926.21, 1926.503, and ANSI Z359). This first module of the training course is for the competent person who may be evaluating the differences of fall restraint and fall arrest in the workplace, as well as ladder safety.

The second module of the training course (days 2 and 3) will focus on the topics of Confined Space and Rescue. Course attendees will: (1) Learn about confined space regulations and standards (including OSHA 1910.146, 1926.1200, ANSI Z117, and NFPA 350); (2) Learn how to evaluate a space to determine if it is classified as a confined space and if it is classified as a permit-required confined space; (3) Learn the methods of hazard control and the roles and responsibilities needed for permit-required confined space entry; and (4) Take part in a hands-on demonstration of permit-required confined space entry and rescue techniques for non-entry rescue of the entrant.
