SoapBox Spoken Word CIC is delighted to announce that Words & Verses - our monthly spoken word open mic - will start up again in 2026 at... (drum roll)... the New Wolsey Theatre (in the upstairs bar).WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!
This means a dedicated space for spoken word, with great tech, comfy seats, hot drinks like tea & coffee, and alcoholic beverages too.
As part of the relocation, tickets will now have to be booked online in advance (for participants and audience alike). This event is being run on a 'Pay What You Feel' mode, so there will be options to make a payment to support. Options are: £0/5/10/15/20 and all income goes directly back into the local community.
(SoapBox is a registered non-profit organisation, and the New Wolsey Theatre is a registered charity).
The day/dates will move around a little to work with the other activities at the theatre, but all four of the future dates are now available to book online:

Monday 8th June
