Helen Rebanks lives with her husband James and four children on a farm in the Lake District. She also cares for six sheepdogs, one pony, twenty chickens, five hundred sheep and fifty cattle. Her 2023 bestseller The Farmer’s Wife is a heartfelt and poetic memoir about motherhood, food and love. The Mail on Sunday described the book as a manifesto, championing every woman’s right to choose the life they want. Helen will be in conversation with Emmy-winning actor, author and woodworker Nick Offerman about her book and their friendship. Nick is from a farming background and is a supporter of regenerative agriculture.He regularly stays on the farm to hang out, eat beef, do DIY, build dry-stone-walls, and admire elite cows. Nick has a growing stake in their Belted Galloway herd. They will be discussing the necessity of nature-friendly farming as the basis of a good life, both for helping us to eat well, but also to revive rural communities.

farm in the English Lake District. This is her first book.

Nick Offerman is an actor, author, humorist and woodworker whose credits include the Emmy award-winning role of Bill in The Last of Us (HBO), Ron Swanson on NBC’s Parks & Recreation, Forest in Devs, and Karl Weathers in the FX series Fargo. He has written five New York Times Bestselling books, including his latest, Where the Deer and the Antelope Play (Penguin Random House). Recent and upcoming projects include Civil War (written and directed by Alex Garland), Origin (written and directed by Ava DuVernay), The Umbrella Academy (Netflix), and he is the audiobook narrator for Wendell Berry’s latest, The Need to Be Whole. In his spare time, he can be found at his woodshop in Los Angeles building hand-crafted items from wood, ranging from spoons and canoes to ukuleles.
