'Word for Word' is an evening of open mic poetry; a poetical free-for-all, every second last Wednesday of the month at Society City Wollongong.Whether you’re a fledgling poet with a few scribbles on a notepad or a seasoned slammer, this is a warm, open, and unjudging space to share your words and let them be heard.
For all varieties of poetry and short monologue - including traditional verse, free verse, prose poems, spoken word and more.

ABOUT THE FEATURED POET:
Nathaniel is an avid bookworm and word nerd. Having studied marine science and English literature at UOW, he likes to write about belonging and our relationship to nature. His favourite writers and inspirations right now are Alice Munro, Evelyn Araluen and Fernando Pessoa.
Currently, Nathaniel volunteers at Story Factory, a creative writing program for under-resourced schools in the Sydney region.

How to get to Society City:
Society City is located at 274 Crown St, Wollongong across the road from Spotlight. It is a short 5 minute walk from Wollongong train station. The best free weekend parking is Atchison St Car Park.
