Event Photos

"During this hour-long photowalk, we will explore the Wynwood Norte neighborhood. As we photograph, I will emphasize the importance of capturing these homes that will soon disappear due to gentrification. I will discuss the architecture and the vibrant colors of the homes, which are emblematic of the Caribbean landscape, as well as the objects we observe in the patios, such as images of the Virgin Mary or Saint Lazarus, which are integral to our Hispanic culture. My goal is to highlight a community that is in the process of vanishing and to underscore the significant role it played in building our city." Clara Toro.

"During this hour-long photowalk in Downtown Miami, we’ll immerse ourselves in the city’s sensory landscape. We’ll explore how the city’s sounds, smells, and sights resonate within us and translate these experiences into unique images. With the camera as an extension of our senses, we’ll experiment with techniques like long exposure, motion blur, and double exposure to creatively capture our perceptions. We’ll stop at various ‘sensorial sites’ to collectively respond to our environment, using experimental photography to share our experiences and insights." Nicole Combeau.
