About this Event
All DIYD workshops have Pay What You Can ticket options.
If the Full Cost Ticket is financially comfortable for you, we ask that you purchase this ticket to help DIYD offset the costs of workshop expenses.
If the Full Cost Ticket is a stretch for you at this time, choose a lower cost ticket that suits your financial capacity. Choose the “Pay What You Can” option to purchase a ticket for as low as $1.
If you would like to make a donation to DIYD, choose the 125% cost ticket option or use the Pay What You Can option to make a donation of any amount. (And thank you!)
For more information about how DIYD uses the revenue from ticket costs, scroll down to our FAQ section below.
Why build a box? Do you want to build or repair a cabinet, bookshelf, entertainment center or similar? Interested in building something, but intimidated by power tools? Then this class is for you!
In this workshop, participants will first learn about load-bearing structure, and applications of the basic box design. How to determine the size and layout of pieces will be covered next. We then will be attaching together pre-cut pieces of wood using a drill, impact driver, screws, and clamps. Each step of the process will be done together as a group, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and safe. The end result will be an 18”H x12”Wx9.5”D pine box with interior shelf and backing that participants can take home.
