About this Event
No prior woodworking experience is required.
Participants will build a jointed wooden arm lamp suitable for a workbench or desktop. No previous woodshop experience is required. All assembly will take place during the class, and participants will take home a fully functional method of illumination.
When taken home, the lamp will be bare wood, which can be painted, stained, clear-coated lamp, or left bare.
As part of the class, participants will be given safety instructions on large woodworking tools, including the jointer, planer, and table saw (Spark members will receive certification check-offs). Additional tools used will include the miter saw, drill press, and bench sander.
18+
For Spark Members: After successful completion, members will be able to use the jointer, planer, and table saw (certification) independently. Thanks to generous grant support from the Frank Loomis Palmer Foundation, these classes are reduced in price.
Please note that the class fee is non-refundable unless it does not meet minimum enrollment. If this happens, you will be contacted 5 days ahead of time, refunded, and the class will be canceled.
