Wooden Spoon Carving
About this Event
Wooden spoon carving depends on a simple, portable set of tools, and the sort of freshly cut branch wood that can often be found for free.
The gifts of learning to carve spoons are beautiful, useful objects, greater confidence in your hands and eyes, and deeper understanding of trees.
This demo will give you the chance to see how a spoon is carved with hatchet and knife, learn how a spoon is shaped to follow the strength of the wood, learn to identify good material for a spoon, and get a feel for the tools yourself.
You won’t need carving tools, but feel free to bring them if you have them.
Open to all ages ! Minors under 18 will need a parent/guardian with them.
