Woodblock Carving and Printing: Linear Landscapes

Learn how to carve and print your own woodblock in response to the environment. This workshop is an introduction to relief printmaking where you will learn how to prepare and transfer a drawing suitable for the medium along with carving, inking, and printing techniques. Inspiration will be taken from natural and urban landscapes, and emphasis placed on expressive use of line to produce an edition of three unique hand printed artworks on paper. This workshop is hands on so make sure you wear clothes that can handle some ink!

What to bring:

• A smile
• Recess, lunch and a water bottle
• Art smock

Covid Safety:

• Masks required to be worn at all times indoors (age 12+)
• Participants must show proof that you have received TWO doses of a COVID-19 vaccine OR that you hold a certified medical exemption. (age 16+)
