About this Event
Come and hang out with your wonky, weird and wobbly mates for some yoga, time with ourselves, a lovely cup of tea and hopefully a lot of play!
Break Down the Pose is one of the most practiced parts of the wonkee website (don't worry you don't have to be a member to come along to this)! So why don’t we try and explore, find and experiment with those asana / poses we feel are inaccessible to us - in real life!
Kick start the afternoon with some nerve settling, a bit of warming up and chatter - then and you’ll throw all the poses and postures you struggle with into a hat. With your help, Scottee will use props, turn the poses upside down, find other ways and admit defeat where needed in an exploration of access, yoga and silly fun.

The studio is based on the 2nd Floor, there is currently no working lift in the building
There is no BSL interpretation planned for these sessions - if you are HoH or a hearing aid user and would like to reserve a mat closer to Scottee get in touch
If you would like to attend with your support worker or PA let us know (no charge)
This practice requires the ability to move from seated to standing with the support of props or a chair
Matts, bolster cushions, blocks and blankets are provided to help make practicing as comfortable as possible
The space can hold 40 people but capacity is capped at 30 to make sure you have space to be yourself
I will not be touching your body or telling you how to move, all cues are verbal
You can watch, listen and observe - this is just as valid!
I encourage you to take up space, take rest when needed, tic, stim or take 5 from the room as you need
You won’t be asked to read any information, all cues will be given verbally
These classes will be taught in English
If you have any requests, worries, access statements or declarations you’d like to make - drop me a line!
FAQs:
Do I need to be good at yoga?
Lets try and move away from this idea of good and bad yoga! Beginners are always welcome, if at any point you want to stop, sit, watch or just do your own thing that is very much encouraged.
Will you tell me off or tell me I am doing it wrong?
No, absolutely not. I try to be encouraging and will never single people out.
What do I need to bring?
I provide all the equipment but you can bring a mat if you have one. Water bottles and stim toys or comforting things are also welcome.
Will I have to talk to the group?
No. There is a check in at the start to understand where we are all at, however you do not need to contribute to this.
