Join three authors with three varied stories - a memoir, a novel and a collection of short stories - for an evening about the modern midlife woman. Laurie James, Leslie Rasmussen and Jodi Klein will be talking about the joys and challenges women in their 40s and beyond face today through the lens of the characters in their three books and their own life experiences.These authors will discuss their books, contrasting writing experiences, and how their different backgrounds led to writing three different books that address and capture the personal struggles and triumphs that women in midlife often encounter.
About the Authors:
Jodi Klein is an author and the creator of the podcast First Date Stories, which chronicles real women's ups and downs with dating during midlife.
Leslie A. Rasmussen is a former television writer of comedies for Gerald McRaney, Burt Reynolds, Roseanne Barr, Norm McDonald, Drew Carey, and Ralph Macchio as well as The Wild Thornberrys and Sweet Valley High. Most recently, Leslie has written personal essays for online magazines such as Huffington Post, Maria Shriver, and Sheknows.
Laurie James is a mother, caregiver, divorcée, turned author and transformative coach. Laurie has learned through therapy and other healing programs that she has everything she needs within her to create the life she desires, and she wants to bring that knowledge to other women. She is training to become a Martha Beck certified coach. Laurie enjoys coaching women who are searching for happiness and helps them discover what that means to them.
