Calling all women/femme/trans/nb (FTWN) folks - let's talk about bike commuting basics - and community! In this hands-on workshop, we’ll start with a quick tour of the bike hub, then refresh on the basics of bike commuting.
We’ll cover:
✅ Bike Setup - basic bike fit, tire pressure
✅ Bike Gear - lights, bags/panniers, locks, rain gear, bike repair tools (and opportunities to learn those skills)
✅ Riding basics on trail and road - communication signals, tips to navigate traffic
✅ Q&A - anything that’s on your mind - commuting clothes, frugal gear, best routes to get from your home to work
✅ Group ride - a 5 mile FTWN community ride around town on city trails and bike lanes - starting and ending at Chain Reaction.
If you have a bike - bring it! It's okay if it's got some dust on it - this is a no judgment zone. If you don’t have a bike, let us know so that you can borrow one from the hub.
