Traditionally, women would gather on a New Moon: the energetic time of our bleed. We would sit in a soft, feminine space, bleed together, feel together, hold one another, and speak as oracles.
On this New Moon in August, as Edinburgh completes its hectic month of Fringe, come to this nurturing, nourishing, soft, safe, and deep space of sisterhood to be held. To restore. To feel, deeply.
The womb is a sensitive space, and topic. Painful or irregular periods. Womb dis-ease of PCOS & Endo. Fertility Issues: wanting a baby. Not wanting a baby. Wishing for your period. Crying over your period. Choosing to let go of a soul from your womb. Losing a soul from your womb. Desiring a soul in your womb. Birthing a soul from your womb.
And the emotional aspect of being a fully-feeling women. Our hormones that cycle and spiral, leaving us not knowing which way is up. PMS. PMDD. The intensity and sometimes fear of knowing what feelings may emerge each month.
There are hardly any safe and sacred spaces left to honour the fullness of what it is to be a bleeding, cycling woman who bleeds, births, celebrates, lets go & howls with the moon.
To reclaim your full power as a woman, is to reclaim your womb. To reclaim our full power as a sisterhood, is to gather with the rhythm of our wombs, tugged by the tides of the moon.
THE RED TENT cacao ceremony will guide you through nourishing practices, sister connection & solo time to fully restore:
▼ IxCacao is a powerful womb ally. Indigenous women of Mexico will chew cacao beans as they go into labour, knowing She supports. We will welcome in the Spirit of IxCacao to hold us as we enter our womb space.
▼ Therapeutic womb yoga to help balance the flow of our wombs, and guide us deeper into ‘womb time’: a very dreamy, non-linear restorative space
▼ Somatic womb sounding, allowing us to give primal voice to our wombs. Done together in a group of women, this is one of the most powerful practices I know.
▼ Soft womb-feeling & release, a gentle yet deep space to feel what is held in your womb, and release whatever you are carrying there. Fear. Grief. Longing. Anger. A softer emotional release process, held in the tenderness of the New Moon.
▼ Sister connection, through partner and group exercises (if it feels right for you), to receive loving touch, presence, restored through the medicine of community.
▼ Shamanic womb journey, to meet the wisdom within your womb through archetype and myth. To take back with you any wisdom that needs to be processed for the next moon cycle.
▼ Deep rest-nest, a dreamy savasana where you can enter into the energetics of sacred mensturation (whether or not you’re bleeding, or have a womb still present in your body). The quality of womb rest is different to normal. Come and be held in the red waves of ancestral remembrance and rest.
It is normal to feel curious and nervous when considering a ceremony such as this. These are the parts of our Being as women that are not spoken of, and are not supported. Yet these are the most ancient and sacred feminine mystery practices that were once worshipped in Goddess temples across Europe.
Jenny Rose has been guiding women’s cacao ceremonies & womb work for several years both in person and online. Miracles really do unfold: women sometimes bleed for the first time in 5, 10, 19 years mid-ceremony. Women have conceived the night of ceremony. A deep sense of release and peace, and deeper connection to your womb space, is opened.
