Women's Music Industry Support Group
About this Event
This industry can be a lot to navigate for women.
There’s so much outsiders don’t see: the calculation of how much of yourself to show, the energy spent managing rooms that were never quite designed with you in them, the pressure to be grateful and undemanding while quietly absorbing more than your share. That's the conversation this gathering is built for.
You don't have to share anything. Coming to listen is enough.
This is a monthly, confidential gathering for women across all parts of the music industry — artists, producers, managers, engineers, executives, publicists, and everyone else moving through this world and occasionally needing to set it down for an hour with people who understand it from the inside.
All participants agree to a confidentiality statement. What's said here stays here.
August’s topic: The Not Enough Story
Most of us in this industry have a version of the same story running underneath everything else. Not established enough. Not connected enough. Not ready enough to ask for more than we're already asking for.
This month, certified executive and life coach Deanna Walker joins us to examine that story honestly — where it comes from, how it quietly drives our decisions, and what becomes possible when we stop letting it run the show. She'll guide us through writing, discussion, and a meditation designed to interrupt those patterns instead of just naming them. Feel free to bring your journal.
Deanna is also a working songwriter and producer with over 120 releases and 26 years shaping careers at Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music. She has lived this industry. Her coaching practice is built on that foundation.
