About this Event
The Women's Legal and Financial Glow Up Event
Hosted by Lee Bolton Monier-Williams on 23 April 2026 at 5pm - 8pm
Are you a woman starting/returning to work or transitioning in their career? Do you plan to marry or begin living with a partner? Are you about to start a family or even end a relationship? Are you comfortable or confident managing money, or think you could be better or just don’t have a clue?
You will be meeting with trusted lawyers and financial professionals to consider these important life milestones and provide you with the tools on how to navigate these issues in a judgement free space. The event will consist of a panel discussion with an opportunity to network afterwards. This is a chance for you to equip yourself with the knowledge and skills necessary to help achieve legal and economic independence.
Some of the topics covered by our expert panel are as follows: -
· The pros and cons of being a married couple verses living together as an unmarried couple.
· The status of foreign marriages and the importance of having a legal and registered marriage recognised by the English Courts.
· Protecting your pre-acquired assets or wealth by way of a pre and/or post nuptial agreement.
· Whether you should make a Will or not?
· Understanding ownership of property and protecting your contributions.
· How to have financial confidence and look after your money in and out of a relationship.
This event will be chaired by Shameela Ahmed the head of the family law department at LBMW with over 23 years’ experience. Shameela will be accompanied by her colleague Laura Tester, an associate in the family team. Megan Morgan will be covering private client matters, and Jessica Groves who deals with property matters.
We will also have Sannah Khan from AML Finance joining us to discuss financial education. Sannah supports individuals, couples, and communities to build healthier, safer relationships with money. Sannah's work is grounded in the understanding that discussions about finances in a relationship is important, and that healthy financial dynamics are learned rather than assumed.
Please register to obtain a ticket to attend this event and we look forward to seeing you there.
